"Networking worlds"
We have created a digital platform for the DVW e. V. that not only unites 13 regional associations under one domain, but also transfers the principle of geodetic measuring points into a forward-looking design concept.
The challenge
DVW e. V. was faced with the task of transforming itself and its 13 independent state association websites with their own domains into a joint, strong digital presence. The main challenge was to develop a system that would manage content centrally and without deep hierarchies, while still allowing flexible use.
Solution
Our central idea is based on the geodetic measuring point. As the smallest unit of measurement, it becomes the defining design element: it appears as a subtle marker for subheadings, structures the content as a bullet point and unfolds in the corporate colors as a dynamic element in header images or graphics. Teaser grid lines are also based on the dot principle and use it as an intersection.
Just as individual measuring points combine to form precise point cloud grids, the website content also combines to form a dynamic overall picture. All regional associations benefit from a central content pool, but can curate their content individually and present it on their regional association websites.
With Statamic as a headless CMS, we have created a technical basis that offers maximum flexibility and future-proofing through an API-first approach. The user-friendliness of the intuitive user interface is also a major step forward for the editorial teams, most of which are made up of volunteer members.
The result is a platform that not only utilizes SEO synergies through the shared domain, but also avoids redundant data storage. A system that, like the geodetic measuring point, serves as a reliable basis and at the same time creates new connections in line with the DVW claim "Connecting worlds".
